Try This with Flarebox

Page Redirect

Welcome to 'Try This With Flarebox' an area where we start to show you some of the things that Flarebox can do which might not otherwise be obvious.

Page Redirection ModuleYou have come to this page through entering the URL: www.flarebox.com/try but that doesn't actually exist! Flarebox has the ability to remap URLs dynamically. This allows you to use whatever URLs you want within your domain and send the viewer someone else.We also record how many times that 'ghost URL' is used allowing you to run campaigns and track responses. You might, for example, advertise in three different newspapers with a different URL for each:

You can choose for each to send them to the same page (but by using different URLs you can track which advert was most successful), or you might send each to a slightly different page to provide a tailored response to the market addressed by that advert. Try them - each of those URLs brings you to this page.

Page Visibility & Access

Menu Module

You might notice that this page doesn't appear on any menus. That is because Flarebox has the ability to set menus up in a number of ways. With this page we have made it viewable by anyone, but not visible on the menu. That allows us to provide pages on a temporary basis for a particular client / ad / market /purpose / etc. We might want to put something on the website for a client to see, but not want the casual viewer to find it...

Of course, we might want something a little bit more secure - a casual viewer could in theory find it, so we also offer a secure side to Flarebox. If you click here you will be taken to a login page. (If you are already logged in you will be taken to your 'home page' instead.) Enter the following details:

username: joesmith (one word all lower case)
password: smith2010 (one word all lower case)

Viewer Pages ModuleThe system will log you in and send you back to the home page of the main menu. At that point you should notice a new button on this menu, because you are now logged in to Flarebox. When the system knows who you are it can be set to show / or hide pages / menus / etc. allowing the site owner to totally customise the website. You can provide a simpler site for some people who  have a focussed use of the content and only need a couple of pages, for others you might give them the normal site and some additional pages which only they can see. You can even give them access to the administrative system, allowing them to help maintain the site, but keeping control by choosing exactly what they can do.

If you click on that button leading to the Client Area, there is more information there, and a button bringing you back to the main website, and one to log out. Just remember though this page is not on any menus, so if you want to come back here, remember to enter www.flarebox.com/try.
